Shooting for over 30 years, Steve is living his dream. With an immense passion for the world of photography and what it brings, Steve loves creating and capturing emotion – connecting people through an image. Inspired by Richard Avedon, Steve strives to create perennial work that is influential and evokes sentiment. His style is simple yet engaging and draws out the intimacy of whatever moment and situation he is in.

He has worked with a diverse range of personalities, which is what he loves. Such subjects include Naomi Watts, Powderfinger, Nicole Kidman, Ben Lee, Curtis Stone, Usain Bolt, Sam Smith and clients such as Network Ten, Billabong, Southern Cross Austereo, ABC made, UBER, Coles and BHP amongst an extensive list of others. He has done covers for Rolling Stone, Women’s Health and Sunday Life magazines as well as shooting various major events from music to the Olympic Games.

Starting his career as a cadet photographer at Fairfax media, he learnt the disciplines of getting as much technically right in the moment and not relying heavily on postproduction. Steve published his first book with Harper Collins entitled EXPRESSIONS a few years back now. It was a collection of portraits that is a testament to the intimate relationship Baccon finds with his subjects.

Steve’s style would be best described as clean with simple lighting and treatment. This  ensures an authentic connection, which allows the warmth of the subjects to come through in the imagery. Steve’s wealth of experience is what sets him apart as a wedding day photographer.
