TFM bride Janice Johnson had a very clear vision for her wedding day which was to reflect timelessness, grace and purity. Everything she planned was well thought out to ensure that the day would uphold her classic and elegant style. The ceremony was held at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Paddington and the reception was held at The Roslyn Packer Theater in Walsh Bay. Janice explains why the couple choose the venues:
"We chose St Francis of Assisi because we have both been brought up under the Catholic faith so it was of great importance to us and to our families that we were married in a Catholic Church. Celebrating our marriage at the Roslyn Packer Theater will always be a memory we will treasure; the Richard Wherrett Studio is predominately used for dance practice. The structure of the building, the unveiled brick walls, exposed ceilings and mirrored wall were all details that we both appreciated and held significance to us when we chose the Theater as our Reception venue."
Janice had the pleasure of working with Molly Warkentin (makeup) and Katie Angus (hair). Janice says of her experience "together they recreated my vision with such ease and accuracy... It was an absolute pleasure and privilege – they are both so much fun to be around, complete genuine and authentic amazing females!"
Janice took inspiration from Grace Kelly for her dress. "I knew I wanted to be sheathed in lace with long sleeves and a high neckline. I found my dress really easily and within my budget at Luv Bridal by an American designer Mia Solano."
Her favourite accessory was her black nail polish! "This shocked my Mother in Law. I wanted to make sure that I stayed true to myself and not be overshadowed by the “typical bride style” so this was a little rebellious of me and made me still feel like myself on the night; I personally think black looks amazing with lace!"
Janice's top tip for brides to be is to start with a visual concept board to capture and collate your inspiration. "I found this an easy way to have a concise and congruent style across all areas of my wedding planning."
