HAIR & MAKEUP ARTIST
When Nicole Abela was caught cutting hair at the age of four, little did she know her cousin would become her first client in a list of many. Having worked in the industry as a professional hairdresser for 15 years and makeup artist for 7 years, Nicole began her illustrious career in Adelaide mentored by the talented Damien Rinaldo for 6 years before opening her own salon at the age of 23 in the elegant Eastern suburbs of Adelaide, which she has held for 5 years.
Nicole moved to Sydney to pursue her dream to work as a freelance session hairstylist and makeup artist. Nicole was first employed by the most recognized editorial and colour salon Valonz group upon moving to Sydney. After a few months Nicole was signed by Reload agency as a session hairstylist and makeup artist and has been booked on jobs for TV as well as advertising campaigns, beauty, fashion, celebrity work, fashion events, music awards and Magazine editorials. Nicole has recently moved back to Adelaide where she is now available for bridal and event bookings bringing with her a wealth of experience.
Nicole has highlighted her career with many awards, taking the prize at the South Australian Hairdresser of the Year awards, and earning credits as a national finalist for the L’Oreal colour trophy three times. She was also a member of the Australian F.A.M.E team where Nicole was an educator on the world stage in London from were her love for education grew. She has since has been a educator for L’Oreal and Affinageon stage at the Australian Hair expo and is now a Moroccan Oil Ambassador and creative team member working on education programs throughout Australia, New Zealand and Asia as well as New York fashion week.
Nicole has worked with many celebrities including Guy and Jules Sebastion, Ajay Rochester, Jenifer Hawkins, Katie Price, Kate Miller-Heidke, Xfactor contestants and winners Dami Im 2013, Marlisa 2014, Samantha Jayde, Renae Ayris, Stephanie Jacobsen, Bethany Mota, Samantha Harris, Simone Holznagel, Yael Stone, Sam Frost, Fifth Harmony, Shanina Shaik, Isabella Cornish, Samantha Armytage, Anna Heinrich, Monica Radulovic, Sally Obermeder, They all hate us, How to live and Sophie Lowe to name a few.
